Merry Christmas!!!

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to send this cute picture that the Mission President sent me of Court with them.  He sounded good on Christmas but did tell us that he spoke with his Mission President because his headaches are just not going away and they feel it is best to transfer him to Lima.  He is up in the Andes Mountains where the elevation is close to 10,000 feet and they think that might have something to do with his head.  He is sad to leave his area and especially his companion who is going to be done with his mission in February, but looks forward to seeing another part of Peru.  I appreciate your prayers for him.  I am amazed and humbled to see how dedicated to his mission he is and how much faith he has put into the Lord.  Missions really do change lives!

Hope everyone had a beautiful Christmas and your New Year is Bueno :)

Dana  :)

PS:  He said his new P-Day will be on Tuesdays!

Dana Sue, my sweet kind mother, how are things in the SLC?  I hope all is well and A UTAH MAN AM I!!! My companion loved his shirt and is going to be repping the U in Honduras, so the U is going to be repped world wide!! My companion says muchisimas Gracias! for the stocking and also for the money that  he received.  He is really grateful for your kindness. He is so humble and he is the best I'm going to be sad if one of us gets transferred Saturday that will be a bummer.

I have been very humbled this week about everything going on here in the mission.  I have found that God has a plan for each and every one of us and we should always do the will of the Lord.  This is a quote from my teacher in the CCM! Pray like it all depends on God, and then go and work like it all depends on you.  I have seen the hand of God in this work and I have seen miracles and how wonderful this gospel truly is.

I hope we can all take a second this Christmas and recognize what God has done for us and that Christ our Savior is the greatest gift. Remember that with our Savior we can live forever with our families and have true joy!  Don't think about what you receive, think about what you can give. Because we have been given much we too much give!

My investigators are great and we are working as hard as we can to get them to church slowly but I know one day they will understand.  We have been blessed to have found 2 new families and have appointments with 3 new families today!  Pray that they may feel the spirit of the Lord and come unto him! I love you all so much and I'm so grateful for every one of you!!

Much Love,
Elder Adams

P.S. I got another package, I don't know who from but the zone leaders said that I got one !! I think it is Lauries or Nanas but I will know tomorrow.

This week has been crazy! My investigators do not want to go to church so that is a bit rough. I don't have much time to write so this will be a short one, sorry to say.

I have received everyone's package but Nana's.  I think Laurie and your's, I should get tomorrow. I saw them arrive while I was in Lima.  I got Whitney s (my love) this week and also I got Ashley's. I'm so happy for all of them, they have changed my life hahah!!

This week I had the wonderful opportunity to go to the temple and do a session just me and my companion and it was glorious! My health is okay to be honest mother. Don't worry, it seems to be getting better. I don't have a calling but I do have to give talks.  For Christmas, lets do the 25th in the morning at like 10 here or 8 there. I don't know, but we can firm it up next week. I have 40 minutes to speak with my favorite people!!! My president says we have the 2 strictest missions in the world but idk mama sorry hahah!!

Love you all!

Love,
Elder Adams

How are things going in the SLC? I hope everyone is enjoying this great time of year because you know I am!!! Chilling with momitas and recieviing more presents here for my birthday than I did at home!! I got three cakes from members and one from my investigator that owns the bakery. They are freaking awesome and treat me well. The only issue is that they have no time for church, because they have to run this bakery. It is hard out here.

The other family came to church but only for an hour which doesn't count for a baptism. They like soccer more than Jesus, and I said that too. My birthday was wonderful! My companion and the people I live with are awesome and threw me a breakfast party with panchpla and papas fritas!! LO MAXIMO! Also my pension got me a tie and a ctr ring from the temple in Lima!

I am going back back to Lima this week because I'm basically here illegally lol. But this week has been great. About 15 members called and wished me a happy birthday and it was a wonderful day. I'm grateful for all the emails that I have received wishing me a happy birthday you guys are the greatest!! My companion gave me some Honduras money for my birthday but it is like a collectors item and is the coolest thing ever. It has a bunch of Mayan stuff on it idk. He is freaking sweet, he kept that all through his mission and he gave it to me!!

I hope everyone is remembering the true gift of Christmas and is helping the church in He is the Gift campaign. We have handed out 200 cards already and putting in work! I love you all so much and hope you are doing good homies!!

Love,

 Elder Adams

P.S. Mom, stop worrying about me. You raised a boi tough.

Things here are straight poppin. Me and my companion are killing it - we had 40 lessons this week and are feeling good. I don't know if you guys know this but as of 5 months ago the first presidency changed the regulations for a baptism, so they have to assist at least 3 times and have to have every lesson taught. This has made it tough to baptize here, but we got faith shorty don't even front!

Thanksgiving!!!! I hope everyone was thankful for all that they have, because this week we didn't have water and we showered with buckets of water, and my dinner consisted of honey and one piece of pan chapla cuz we had nada for money. But it was the best week we have had here so I'm feeling thankful on all sorts of levels. I was able to celebrate my birthday on Friday because my pentionista won't be here for my birthday, and i was able to murder the cake!!

This week we found 11 new investigators which is a lot, but it was a lot of work. I'm totally exhausted but loving every second. This week me and my companion straight put a Jehovah witness on blast. It was some 30 old dude that came up to us in the street and quoted a book of Mormon scripture then continued to talk about this contradiction with the bible. Then my companion (who was zone leader for 8 months before he was my companion and who has 22 months on the mission and has had these conversations before) shared 3 scriptures to which the guy was speechless then I bore my testimony gave him a folleta and we bounced! They have a rule that any Jehovah witness younger then 30 cant talk to us because they will be converted which I thought was funny. That is just one story of this week.

IT has been a little tough health wise. I don't know what is up with my dang head but it's not doing so good. Guess what!! We have investigators and guess what the homies own? A Bakery!!! Freaking crazy, am i right? The bread and bake goods they make are on a whole other level. But I'm just living it up here in Ayacucho. My companion thinks I'll be here for 6 months and when he finishes I'll be training. That is comforting seeing as I know the language so well hahah but it is all good and I'm just taking what god gives me at this point. That is the only way to live in this world! Love you all and I hope you all have the best week and see the hand of God in your lives!!

PS: I got bit by a dog, a big dog. It ripped my pants but it didn't go through my garments and it didn't leave any mark on my body, miracle after miracle here!! The dog ran away whimpering like it got hurt, Protection from the big guy upstairs.

Family Home evening with the family that we live with. The dad isn't a member so we are trying all we can to get him baptized and them to the temple.

Killing it this week in Ayacucho! We had 2 rescues this week and we had 21 lessons with less actives so in that aspect it is going good. We also found a family of 5 that we contacted on the street and they now have a baptismal date for the 27 of Dec!!! And guess what, he put a ring on it so they are married and happy and are beautiful and I want to go to the temple with them. They have three kids an 8 year old boy, an 11 year old girl and a 16 year old girl and they are amazing. Everything I do they say is beautiful hahaha. Especially the 11 year old. I was telling her about Utah and everything I said she was like that is beautiful and when I speak she says you speak so beautifully hahahaha. She is great. The lord has prepared them and I'm praying with all my heart that they can come unto this great gospel.

This week has been good and we have been chilling doing big things here. I'm glad to see that Caleb got home safe and is looking good! Also glad to see Kade with his hot date, seems like he is doin it big there at Murray. I'm just enjoying this great ride at this point, it is not easy and some days it sucks really bad but Christ gives me strength everyday to do this great work. This week was crazy weather, rain storms that I have never experienced before! Also lightning struck the chapel while I was in it so that was cool. And I participated in my first earthquake this week. It wasn't big or anything but some houses got a little wounded cuz they aren't built strong here at all. I'm seeing parties on the streets everyday and the plaza de Armas flooded up to your mid calf. Crazy, right.

Also I want to give a HAPPY BIRTHDAY shout out to STACIE!! I hope you have a wonderful week and the weather is good enough to play tennis! I'm loving it here in Peru the people are crazy and so nice and helping realize a lot of things! The language is good and my companion is great! He will be my companion no worries!! I love you all and I hope you have the best week!!
