Dana, My lovely Dana!!! Of course I write Theo. What kind of question is that? And I receive so many wonderful Dear Elders from Natalie so make sure she knows I appreciate it!

Spanish is coming along. I'm probably 3 best in my district so it is pretty good. It is crazy how much you can learn just from talking to Latinos. I found some going to Theo's mission and I gave them my name. I hope they remember! My compenaro is the freaking best!!! We have a bromance so our district tells us to stop flirting all the time - it is the best! But I get along with everyone really well. You didn't think that would happen now, did you Dana!

This week just flew by! Hermana Hansen left yesterday, we took a pic so I'll send it. Here in Mexico it rains every afternoon! It is so awesome. There was a massive puddle out on the grass. I'm talking about a pond, that's how big it was. Me and Elder Webb and my companion and Elder Wilburn went and slid in it. After we changed of course, haha. Also my teachers are so sick got to make sure you know that, they are the best. I lucked out. But when it rains it floods the streets it gets pretty crazy and psycho but its really cool to experience.

This week was the week me and my district decided to make spirit animals for everyone and also the cute little Hawaiian sister gave all of us cool Hawaiian names. Mine is Maleko!! Straight swag, am I right! Also there was a fire on one of the hills while it was raining. It was pretty intense! Guess what i saw? A DOUBLE RAINBOW!!!!!!! And the sunset that night was off the charts. Dana, you don't even understand! Other than that it was a pretty normal week. Food is still Mexican and my homies are still homies. I'm just enjoying every last second of it because before you know it it is gone!!

And guess what i got!!!!! Laurie,  I received one of your letters and I absolutely LOVED ITTT! You're the cutest ever. I loved all the pics and amazing quotes. I especially liked the picture of me at Arbys, haha. I also got a letter from my lovely family (Dana). It was so sweet. I'm so glad to hear about Murray and their success. Kade, man you be going out there doin yo thang dogg! You a straight man child son put in work!!! Hope Keaton is doing good. Ashley, I checked out my blog and you're keeping it fancy baby gurl! I hope the baby and Scott are killin it!

Spiritual experience at the CCM it is such a cool environment, but there was one scripture that struck my heart pretty good Alma 26:12:

´´ Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever.¨

I'm trying to do my best out here but I know through everything I do, as hard as I work, I am nothing without God. I've realized how real the gift of tongues is and how God continues to bless me in everything and this mission is the best thing ever. I was teaching in TRC and I couldn't understand this girl but we told her to pray with faith and that god is always there for you and he will bless you and take burdens from your shoulders. She wrote an evaluation, but this was a real girl and she said that is exactly what she need to hear. It is amazing how even though we don't speak the language well there is always a universal language and that is the Holy Ghost!!! I love you all so much and I pray for you all hourly!!! Wish you all the best this week!!

Love,

Elder Adams

MAMA,

Dana I MISS YOU!!! And I miss everyone else, as well! I'm halfway there, ohhhh I'm living on a prayer!!!!!

This week was so freaking awesome! It was Mexico's independence day and it was unreal. Absolutely crazy! I have a pic of me doing a handstand on top of our casa ( don't know if we were supposed to be up there) but we had to enjoy the fireworks. The party here in Mexico city went for like 3 days. It was unreal. We also got to participate in a show. All these Mexican dancers came and had this big show then we sang the Mexican national anthem. Make sure dad knows I'm representing my homeland well: VIVA MEXICO!!!! It was also 9-11 this week so we stood up in our zone and one of us had a flag and we sang the American national anthem and it was a way cool experience.

I received Ashley's and Laurie's packages and the whole district and me thank you for that! I also got a letter from Morgan and Whitney!! And Nat sent me a dear elder which was really nice. She is so cool i love her! And Whitney's letter just made my day. And the brownies I got form Laurie and Ashley were so good and the Reeses, Ashley, was much appreciated. I hope to see Laurie's letters here soon. They usually take about 2 weeks to get here.

I get my hair cut today and I'm really scared to go because they just straight chop your head. These cute little Mexicans have no fear. Mom, I know you don't want to hear this but after experiencing Mexico at night I don't think I want to live in America. My soul is Latino, Sorry!!!! hahaha. Mom, can you send my converse to Peru. I'm missing them in my life. It would be much appreciated!!! ALSO FOR DINNER ONE NIGHT WE GOT COSTCO MUFFINS and it changed my life. So goooood.

I forgot to tell you my nickname my district gave me the first week. They are, PBS (Pretty Boy Swag) lol and JFK. They think I look like JFK so I'm not complaining! He was a dang good looking man. Hermana Hansen leaves this week and I am super bummed. She has been a homie for sure. I'll send a pic of her next week, don't worry. My teacher got mad at me. She made me look up a word in the dictionary and it is coquetear ( or flirting). She thinks I flirt with the girls but I'm just being friendly and it's hard when Lizzy and Kal are my homies. Know what i mean? I see Lizzy all the time and it is way cool. She is awesome and her companion is even better haha. Mom, I need to know what my skis are called. I forgot and I need to know please. Also, last night there was a broadcast from Provo and guess who I saw in the crowd. It was Sister Call. Cute little Kylee Call sitting in the choir. It made my night.

My spiritual experience and thing I have learned the most is about the priesthood power the men of the church hold and the covenant you made with your heavenly father. Elder Webb gave Elder Wieburn a blessing because he had back pains and could barley walk and I had the opportunity to be in the circle. It was the coolest most spiritual experience I have ever been a part of. It was elder Webb's first time giving a blessing and it changed my life and perspective on the priesthood forever.

Everything is amazing here at the CCM. Life couldn't be better for me. It is really hard, don't  get me wrong, but there is no where I would rather be. Spanish is really difficult, especially when you need to tell an investigator something and you can't say it because the language barrier, but I'm getting better every week! Tell Pop I love him more then life and I hope is is feeling better, and tell NAN I love her even more!!

Love,
Elder ADAMS

9/10/2014

The days in the CCM have flown by. The spirit and people here are so unreal! Spanish is coming along really well. I can do the whole first leccion in espanol. The food is good just a bunch of Mexican food and still have the nutella bar just in case something isn't good. My companion is still good. We are really different but we understand each other so we chill. Elder Webb is my duuddde tho. Me and him are like mejore amigos.

Here, it is so much studying, so much! It is good for me though. I have never loved el libro de Mormon so much in my life. That book is straight gold and the things it says is absolutely crazy and way  cool. This sunday was fast Sunday and we all did a language fast so we didn't speak English for a whole day and it was so hard but really cool.

We watch movies on Sundays. This Sunday was about women missionaries! It made me think of you, my darling mother, and how grateful I am to have had a woman in my life like you to go and serve a mission! Love you! Then yesterday we heard a talk from Elder Holland and you know elder Holland is the most inspirational speaker in the world so it was amazing! It made me really happy that I made this decision to come on a mission. It breaks my heart to think I almost didn't! I have found out in just this little time that this gospel means everything to me and it is the reason I am anything. Push forward with faith to all my homies!

Other than that it was just a lot of volleyball and studying and messing around with all the great people I have met! The days are going by fast and it's crazy. All is well and I'm feeling amazing. Here are pictures of living, compound, and some with my killas! I also got your package and your letter, mama, but that is it so far!

Love,
Elder Adams

Dana!!!! We Made it!! The CCM is so freaking cool. Mexico City is absolutely nuts! Non stop police sirens and non stop honking and gunshots every once in a while.  I made it a week and it feels like a day. I have learned so much so fast. Spanish is so frustrating. We had to teach our first investigator the second day and it was all in Espanol. The second you walk off the plane you never see English again. The Spanish is coming a lot faster for me than most of the others.

My companion is Elder Skinner, he is from Logan and he is way nice and lets me do my thing and I let him do his. We probably have the best companionship in our district. My district is awesome, we do everything together and I have really connected with Elder Webb, Elder Welburn ( the older version of Kade, they are twins), and Hermana Widison (Gregg Bakers cousin, lol). And Hermana KAAA!! She is from Hawaii and the best volleyball player i know!

The food is just all Mexican all the time other than the cereal and the NUTELLA BAR!!!! I'm having a great time so far and I have seen so many people I saw Lizzy, Blake Brockbank, Christian Green, Hermana Hansen, and Elder Mann! I CAN'T HANDLE ALL THE BYU fans. I honestly, in the most humble way possible, murder people on the basketball court. They cant stop me, haha. I live in a pretty okay place, it is Mexico though. I'll send pics but I forgot a cord to plug into the computer. I found out you can send packages and I haven't gotten one letter so I'm a little sad. Please send letters!!! I love everyone and I'm having the best of time. Here is mi testimonio:

Yo se que el Evangelio de jesucristo es verdad. You se que Jose smith era propheta de iglesia. El Libro de mormon es verdad y THomas S. Monson es propheta de iglesia y el recibe revalacion mediante Dios!!!

Love you all,
Elder Adams

P.S. Seriously though, it is so crazy how Satan is all up in your business. If you aren't doing something for two seconds you think why the heck am I out here gettin' bit by bugs and eating this Mexican food that is kinda disgusting and why am I in this white room on bunk beds with 3 other dudes. Then you pray and remember why you are here and the spirit is so strong. I love it!!!
